Mayor David O. Archie was elected as Mayor of the City of Tarpon Springs on March 9, 2010. He previously served on the Board of City Commissioners in the capacity of Vice-Mayor for 5 years and Commissioner for 5 ½ years. He is a lifelong resident of the City of Tarpon Springs and is committed to improving the quality of life for all of its citizens.

Mayor Archie is the Executive Director of the Citizens Alliance for Progress, Inc. and has worked in this capacity for 14years. He serves on a number of advisory boards and other committees including: the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority Board; WorkNet of Pinellas Board and Youth Development Committee Chair; Pinellas Coalition for Progress; Pinellas County Schools Biracial Advisory, DMAC, School Literacy and District Discipline Steering Committees; and, the Pinellas Cultural Arts Council.

Mayor Archie received his higher education at Florida A & M University in Tallahassee, Florida and holds a B.S. Degree in Business Administration. He also completed the Florida League of Cities Institute for Elected Municipal Officials and the National League of Cities Leadership Program.
